When you do run out of memory, RE8 has a tendency to simply freeze. Because the 3400G shares the system memory with the graphics core, you can quickly butt up against the machine's 8GB limit. In case you are wondering, our $400 setup can't really handle the Prioritized graphics or Max settings at either 720p or 1080p due to a lack of memory. Balanced drops the framerate down a bit, and the visual improvement isn't quite so obvious, so I'd stick with performance here. It feels much smoother and you can actually react and fight properly, as opposed to trying to guess where the monsters are going to be. Using Prioritize performance you're looking at 54fps on average, with lows down at 43fps.
It can be a touch sluggish in combat though, which is why 720p is probably a better bet. Resident Evil Village isn't a competitive shooter, and for the most part, those kind of framerates are fine for exploring the beautiful environments the game offers up.
